Everyone should have a friend who has an enormous chandelier in their flat. Here is mine, Gayle Smith and her daughter Ona. We first met Gale and Ona when the girls were in class together at 261. Gayle has such an eye for style it makes perfect sense that she is the design director of women's fashion at Urban Outfitters. I like talking to Gayle not only for her style insights but to hear traces of her Geordie accent. A Geordie is someone from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, which they call the Toon. From Newcastle to London to Brooklyn to Philly we have Gayle Smith and Ona Cathcart.
